Parent Advocacy
As a Parent Advocate, I partner with families to support their child’s educational success by helping them navigate the school system with confidence and clarity. This role involves meeting with parents to discuss their child’s academic performance, behavior, and overall well-being in school. Together, we review progress reports, assessments, teacher feedback, and any other relevant documentation to develop a clear picture of the child’s needs and strengths.
I help parents prepare for school meetings—such as IEP, 504, SST, or parent-teacher conferences—by breaking down educational terminology, clarifying school processes, and formulating thoughtful questions to ask school staff. My goal is to empower parents to advocate effectively, ensuring they understand their rights and options, while fostering positive and collaborative relationships with school teams.
By taking a team-based approach, I support families in building partnerships with educators that are grounded in mutual respect and shared responsibility. Ultimately, I help families feel confident, informed, and ready to work alongside schools to ensure every child has the support they need to thrive.
